The Iraqi Journal for Mechanical and Materials Engineering was found in the year 2000 by the Faculty of Engineering/ Babylon University/ IRAQ. The aim of the journal was is to publish research in the Mechanical and Materials Engineering and other relate disciplines. Eighteen volumes ( one volume per year)are published so far. Initially, each volume includes three issues until volume nine then starting from volume ten four issues are published for each volume. New submitted manuscript is handled by the editorial board of the journal and sent to three specialist evaluators. Remarks of the evaluators are sent back to the author for correction before the decision of acceptance. 

1- The Iraqi Journal for Mechanical and Materials Engineering is an open access journal.
2- The Article Processing Charges (APC) is $100 except  articles from outside Iraq.
3- There's no submission charges.

Aim and Scope

The Iraqi Journal for Mechanical and Materials Engineering (IQJMME) is a quarterly peer-reviewed academic scientific journal. Papers are subjected to academically acknowledged evaluations by experts at home and abroad. IQJMME is published by Faculty of Engineering -University of Babylon- Iraq. IQJMME seeks promoting knowledge on the various topics of mechanical and materials engineering. The journal aims to serve researchers, engineers, manufacturers, associations, and societies to keep abreast of new developments in their specialist fields. The Iraqi Journal for Mechanical and Materials Engineering is an international, multi-disciplinary journal in mechanical and materials engineering. The journal aims to be a leading peer-reviewed platform and an authoritative source of original research related to mechanical and materials engineering.

Peer reviewing

New submitted manuscript is handled by the editorial board and subjected to a peer-reviewing process by three anonymous specialist reviewers from Iraqi universities. The manuscript will be given conditioned accepted for publication when two or three of the reviewers give a positive response. This manuscript is sent back to the author for revising process accounting for all reviewers’ remarks. Final acceptance is given when a revised version of the manuscript is received by the journal editorial board and approved by the reviewers. The manuscript is rejected when two or three reviewers give negative response initially and a rejection letter is send to the author.
